Nancy J. King is a Democrat representing District 39 in Montgomery County, Maryland, in the State Senate. She has served as Senate Majority Leader, chairs the Education, Business and Administration subcommittee of the Budget and Taxation Committee, and holds leadership roles including past Assistant Deputy Majority Leader and Deputy Majority Whip. Notable achievements include the Senate of Maryland's First Citizen Award , State Legislator of the Year by the National Biotechnology Industry Organization, Technology Advocate of the Year by the Tech Council of Maryland, and awards from the Maryland Association of Boards of Education and Dental Association.
