Biography
Nancy Jenkins-Arno is a Republican representing Michigan's 34th House District, which includes the cities of Adrian, Morenci, and Tecumseh; villages of Addison, Blissfield, Cement City, Clayton, Clinton, and Onsted; and numerous townships in Lenawee County such as Rollin, Hudson, and Medina. Born on June 2, 1964 , she resides in Clayton or Rollin Township with her husband, Rich, on the family farm where she grew up. She was elected to her fourth non-consecutive term in the Michigan House in November 2024 and sworn in on January 2, 2025. Notable achievements include serving three prior House terms , three terms as Lenawee County Commissioner , and key committee roles such as Chair of the House Appropriations Labor and Economic Opportunity Subcommittee, Vice Chair of the School Aid and Department of Education Subcommittee, and Chair of the Joint Capitol Outlay Committee.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Evangel University in 1986; earned a master’s degree in political science from the University of Toledo in 1991.
- Early Career: Worked as district director/representative for State Senator Cameron Brown for eight years; real estate title examiner; director of development for Hudson Area Schools ; public relations assistant and research roles.
- Political Experience: House Appropriations and Commerce and Trade Committees ; Lenawee County Commissioner ; current committees include House Appropriations, Higher Education and Community Colleges Subcommittee, and others.
