Senator Nader Hashim

Notable Positions: Vice Chair of Senate Committee on Judiciary and Senate Panel on Ethics; serves on Senate Committee on Education, Joint Legislative Justice Oversight Committee, Joint Legislative Management Committee, Judicial Rules Committee, Judicial Nominating Board, Vermont Sentencing Commission, and Coordinated Justice Reform Advisory Council.
Nader Hashim moved to Vermont in 2011 after earning his degree from Clark University. He began a career as a trooper with the Vermont State Police, serving in the Brattleboro and Westminster Barracks, and was a member of the Fair & Impartial Policing Committee and Drug Recognition Expert team. In 2019, he served one term as a state representative for Windham-4 in the Vermont House of Representatives on the Judiciary Committee. He has been a Vermont State Senator for the Windham District since 2023. Outside politics, he works as a paralegal and investigator at a private law firm in Brattleboro and as Deputy Director at Bright Leadership Institute since 2021. His hobbies include writing, music, painting, and hiking.
