Biography

Muriel Hall is a Democratic representative for Merrimack 9 in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, serving the communities of Bow and Hopkinton. Born as the seventh of 14 children to Canadian immigrant parents, she grew up on a farm in northern New Hampshire, developing a strong work ethic, honesty, responsibility, compassion, and respect. She won a special election on June 8, 2021, following Samantha Fox's resignation, initially representing Merrimack 23 through 2022, and continues in her third term.

Notable achievements include the 2024 Legislator Nutrition Equity Champion Award, 2022 NEA-NH Friend of Education Award, 2010 Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Program Finalist, and 2002 NEA Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence. She is a lifetime member of the National Education Association, serving on the NEA-NH Board of Directors and Government Relations Committee.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: AA in Foreign Languages from Mt. San Antonio College; BS Ed in Elementary Education from Keene State College; Master's in Computer Technology from Plymouth State University.
  • Professional Experience: 40-year career in education until retirement in 2019, including 32 years at Bow Memorial School teaching special education, mathematics, and computer literacy; led technology integration and taught graduate-level PSU tech mentoring courses for SAU 67.
  • Political and Union Roles: President and negotiations chair of the Bow Education Association for over a decade; current NH House Representative .
