Mona Das is a Democratic former Washington State Senator who represented Senate District 47 from 2019 to 2023. A champion of environmental justice, racial equity, housing affordability, and economic fairness, she immigrated from India to the United States at eight months old with her parents, who arrived with only six dollars. She has lived in eight states and three countries, settling in Kent, Washington. Notable achievements include passing nearly 30 bills, such as Senate Bill 5022 banning certain single-use plastics and expanded polystyrene products. She served as Democratic Caucus Vice Chair , founded MOXY Money LLC , and executive produced the award-winning documentary Bad Ass Women Doing Kick Ass Shit.
