Biography
Mohamud Noor is a Democratic-Farmer-Labor member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 60B in Hennepin County, which includes parts of Minneapolis. Born in 1977 or 1978 in Somalia, he sought asylum in Kenya during the Somali Civil War and immigrated to Minnesota in 1999. He is married to Farhiya with four children, identifies as Somali-American and Muslim, and previously worked as a technology and business consultant, quality control reviewer for the State of Minnesota, and in roles for Hennepin County. Notable achievements include being one of the founding members of the United Black Legislative Caucus, appointments by Governors Ventura and Pawlenty to advisory roles for East African and Black Minnesotan communities, and serving as the first Somali elected to the Minnesota Legislature after winning in 2018 following two prior unsuccessful runs.

- Education: B.S. in Computer Science from Metropolitan State University.
- Political Experience: Elected to the House in 2018 , succeeding Ilhan Omar; currently in his 4th term representing District 60B . Serves as Co-Chair of Human Services Finance and Policy, and on Ways and Means and Higher Education Finance and Policy committees.
