Biography
Antonio "Moe" Maestas is a Democratic State Senator representing District 26 in Bernalillo County, New Mexico. Born on July 6, 1968, he has served in the New Mexico Legislature for over 18 years, first as a Representative for District 16 from 2007 to 2022, and as Senator since 2022 following an appointment. Notable achievements include sponsoring a successful resolution in 2021 to fund early childhood education via a state trust , advocating for financial literacy in high schools, and serving as House Majority Whip. He currently sits on the Senate Education Committee and Senate Committee on Courts, Corrections and Justice. Maestas is a practicing lawyer and founder of Moe Justice Law Office since 2003.
