Biography
Miriam Paris is a Democratic member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 142 since 2017. Born on June 30, 1960, in Macon, Georgia, she is a longtime realtor with 27 years of experience associated with Coldwell Banker. A native of Macon, Paris previously served on the Macon City Council, where she was elected in a 2006 special election and unanimously chosen as President of the 15-member council the following year. She also served one term in the Georgia State Senate for District 26 from 2011 to 2013. Paris won re-election to House District 142 in 2022 with 100% of the vote. Her legislative priorities emphasize stronger families and communities, and she serves on key committees including Appropriations, Economic Development & Tourism, Education, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Special Rules, and Urban Affairs. Notable community involvement includes boards for Manna Ministries, Macon Chamber of Commerce, and New Town Ministries.
