Mindy Domb is a Democrat representing the 3rd Hampshire District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, which includes the town of Amherst and precincts 1 and 2A in Granby . Elected in November 2018, she was re-elected to a fourth term in November 2024. She is Jewish and previously served multiple terms on the Amherst Town Meeting. Before entering politics, she worked for Congressman Ted Weiss , handling constituent services, advocating for HIV response, and opposing nuclear weapons in New York Harbor. Notable achievements include founding Make It Better Amherst to address the LGBTQ teen suicide epidemic.
Education and Political Experience
Domb served as Executive Director of the Amherst Survival Center from 2013 to 2018, expanding services like food pantries, health clinics, community meals, and laundry facilities. In the legislature, her priorities include public higher education investment, economic inequality, climate response, healthcare access, rights for women, LGBT community, workers, and immigrants, public transit expansion, and voting access. She holds positions such as Vice Chair of the Joint Committee on Environment, Natural Resources & Agriculture; member of Joint Committees on Higher Education, COVID-19 & Emergency Preparedness, and Revenue; Commissioner on the Ellen Story Commission on Postpartum Depression; and legislative member of the Non-Emergency Human Service Transportation Task Force. She also served on the Special Joint Oversight Committee investigating the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke COVID-19 outbreak and is Co-Chair of the Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development Committee.
