R. Michael Young is a Republican State Senator representing District 35 in the Indiana Senate, covering portions of Marion and Hendricks counties, including parts of Decatur and Wayne Townships in Marion County and Guilford and Liberty Townships in Hendricks County. Born on May 14, 1951, he has served in the Indiana General Assembly since 1986, first in the House of Representatives and then in the Senate . He resides in Indianapolis with three children and five grandchildren, and works as an attorney and political consultant.
