Representative Mike Steele is a Republican serving Washington's 12th Legislative District , encompassing parts of Chelan, Douglas, King, and Snohomish counties, including areas along Highway 2 such as Skykomish, Monroe, Snoqualmie, North Bend, Duvall, and Carnation. Sworn into office in 2017, he prioritizes economic vitality, sustainable job growth, and career and technical education, leading bipartisan policy negotiations. He serves as Ranking Minority Member of the House Capital Budget Committee, and as a member of the Legislative Ethics Board , Consumer Protection & Business Committee, and Education Committee.

A lifelong Lake Chelan Valley resident, Steele is involved in community organizations, including past roles as president of the Lake Chelan Rotary Club, board member of the Chelan County Fair, and current chair of the WA State Chamber of Commerce Executives. He also serves on boards for the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Foundation, North Central Washington Small Business Loan Fund, and Community Foundation of North Central Washington.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Graduated from Manson High School; earned degrees in Business Administration and Political Science from Pacific Lutheran University.
• Political Experience: Served in the White House Office of Political Affairs for the Northwestern United States under President George W. Bush; worked with the Washington State House Republican Caucus for Leadership during the 2006 session and interim; executive director of the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce for over 12 years, advancing local businesses. Elected to the Washington House of Representatives in 2017, representing District 12.
