Michael F. Smith, a resident of Newark, Delaware, works as Director of Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships at the University of Delaware’s College of Health Sciences. He is married to Christy Smith, and they have three sons: Braedon, Nathan, and Troy. Smith has earned recognition for bipartisan efforts, including securing funding for local infrastructure like the Polly Drummond Hill Road Yard Waste Site and road improvements; co-sponsoring bills for mental health counselors in schools, restoring the $500 senior property tax credit, and increasing littering fines; and authoring legislation to aid law enforcement recruitment and protect pensions.
