Biography
Mike Shaw
Mike Shaw is an American politician and technology executive who has served as a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives since November 9, 2022. He represents Alabama's 47th House District, which encompasses Vestavia Hills and Hoover.
Political Experience
Shaw began his political career in 2016 when he joined the Hoover City Council. He was re-elected to the council in 2020 and served two terms before being elected to the state house. On November 8, 2022, he won his election to the Alabama House of Representatives with 64 percent of the vote, defeating Democratic opponent Christian Coleman. Upon assuming office on November 9, 2022, he immediately resigned from his City Council position.
Professional Background
Beyond his legislative role, Shaw serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Mutual Savings Credit Union. Earlier in his career, he was a past Chairman of both the Auburn College Republicans and the College Republican Federation of Alabama, and maintains membership in the Mid Alabama Republican Club.
