Mike Schultz is a Republican representing Utah House District 12, which includes Hooper, Roy, and West Haven in Weber County. Born and raised in Weber County, he has been a lifelong resident of the area and currently owns and operates a family ranch in Croydon, Utah. A former general contractor, he owned multiple small businesses, including Castle Creek Homes, which he stepped away from in 2023 after achieving business success, including owning 25 businesses. He learned hard work early through jobs on his grandfather’s cattle farm, selling worms, milking cows, hauling hay, and roofing homes. Schultz was first elected to the Utah House in 2014, taking office in 2015, and has served continuously since. He advanced to Majority Whip , Majority Leader , and currently serves as Speaker of the House since November 2023. Notable achievements include co-sponsoring SB136 in 2018 , championing increased funding for Utah students, water conservation, transportation infrastructure, balanced budgets, and tax cuts. He serves on committees such as Business, Economic Development, and Labor Appropriations Subcommittee; Executive Appropriations; House Education; House Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice; House Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment; and others. Known for conservative values, bipartisan partnerships, and common-sense leadership.
