Biography
Mike Schofield is a Republican representing Texas House District 132, which includes Katy, part of Cy-Fair, and Waller in Harris County. Born on June 27, 1964, he is an attorney currently in his fifth term in the Texas House of Representatives . He previously served 11 years as an advisor to Governor Rick Perry on issues like property rights, eminent domain, election integrity, and lawsuit reform. Notable achievements include drafting the 2017 constitutional amendment banning a state income tax , co-sponsoring SB 2038 for landowner opt-out of city extraterritorial jurisdiction, and helping pass HB 192 to protect law-enforcement funding. He chairs the House Republican Caucus Policy Committee and was named "Freshman Legislator of the Year" in 2015.
