Mike Motschenbacher is a Republican member of the North Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 47 since 2023. A longtime Bismarck resident, he is married to Buffy and has four children: Carson, Molly, Emily, and Zack. Previously, he served 30 years as general manager of Expressway Inn and Suites and was president of the North Dakota Hospitality Association; he now works as executive director of the North Dakota Gaming Alliance. He ran unsuccessfully for Bismarck City Commission in 2006 and 2014. Notable positions include involvement with the Knights of Columbus and BisMan Chamber Economic Development Committee; he advocates for improving the business climate, lowering income taxes, being tough on crime, and bipartisan legislation.
