Biography
Senator Mike Moon is a Republican representing Missouri Senate District 29, which includes Barry, Christian, Lawrence, and McDonald Counties. Originally from North Carolina, he was born there and graduated from Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, Virginia. He attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where he met his wife, Denise, with whom he has been married for over 44 years. They have five children—Amanda, Bryan, Erin, David, and Jason—and seven grandchildren. Moon had a 28-year career in marketing at Mercy Hospital and now works as a cattle rancher on farms in Lawrence and Christian Counties. He is an active member of High Street Baptist Church, serving as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and on mission committees.
Notable achievements include being named the Most Constitutionally Voting Legislator by the Locke and Smith Foundation from 2017 to 2023. He advocates for policies like "The Fair Tax," which would replace income, property, and corporate taxes with a higher sales tax.
