Biography
Mike Lynch is a Republican politician from Wellington, Colorado, who served as a state representative for House District 65 , covering parts of Larimer and Weld Counties. Born Michael Spencer Lynch, he is a Colorado native, U.S. Army veteran , and family man married to Alex with two children. A small-government conservative, he focused on reducing taxes, supporting industries like timber and advanced manufacturing, veteran rights, wildfire mitigation, and combating fentanyl by pushing to make its possession a felony. He briefly served as Minority Leader of the Colorado House from January 2023 to January 2024 and ran unsuccessfully for Colorado's 4th Congressional District in the 2024 Republican primary, placing fifth. Lynch owns the Western Heritage Company, specializing in custom belt buckles, and has executive experience in medical devices, HR, software, and manufacturing.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: BS in Systems Engineering and Law from the United States Military Academy at West Point; Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Army certifications include Airborne Qualified, Bradley Commander, and Master Fitness Trainer.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Colorado House in 2020, defeating Vicki Marble in the primary and his Democratic opponent in the general . Served on committees for Agriculture, Water & Natural Resources, and Business Affairs & Labor; sponsored bills on tax credits, housing, timber, veterans' due process, Air and Space National Guard, and judicial issues. Announced congressional candidacy in January 2024.
