Biography

Michael J. Lance is a Republican member of the Maine House of Representatives, representing District 79, which includes the communities of Paris, Sumner, West Paris, and Woodstock. He was elected in November 2024 and has served since December 2024 in the 132nd Legislature. Lance works as a tool technician and volunteer firefighter for the Paris Fire Department. He is married to Jennifer, with one child, and is active in the Oxford Lodge, Norway/Paris Fish and Game Club, and Saint Catherine of Siena. Notable achievements include being named Class C Assistant Coach of the Year in 2017 for his work at Spruce Mountain High School.

Education and Political Experience

Education: Lance holds a B.S. in natural science education from Plymouth State College and a certificate in educational leadership from the University of Southern Maine. He is a retired science teacher and coach.

Political Experience: This is Lance's first term in the Maine House of Representatives . He serves on the House Committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, which oversees areas such as hunting, fishing, trapping, game wardens, ATVs, snowmobiles, and boater safety.
