Biography
Mike Howard is a member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party representing District 51A in the Minnesota House of Representatives, covering Richfield and parts of Minneapolis in Hennepin County. First elected in 2018 and serving his 5th term as of 2026, he works in public relations, is married to spouse Sarah, and has two children. Notable achievements include chief authoring the Alec Smith Insulin Affordability Act to cap insulin costs, securing a $1 billion investment in affordable housing as Chair of the Housing Finance and Policy Committee, passing laws to cap costs for insulin, asthma inhalers, and epi-pens, funding a new Wood Lake Nature Center and Richfield Public Schools, and supporting Drivers Licenses for All and clean energy goals.
