Senator Mike Hodges

Senator Mike Hodges, a Republican, represents Georgia State Senate District 3, which includes Brantley, Camden, Charlton, Glynn, McIntosh counties, and a portion of Ware County. A Brunswick native and lifelong Coastal Georgia resident, he was elected in 2022 after running unopposed in the general election. He serves as Administration Floor Leader for Governor Brian Kemp, Secretary of the Senate Banking and Financial Institutions and Judiciary Committees, Ex-Officio member of the Health and Human Services Committee, and member of the Economic Development and Tourism and Finance Committees. In 2024, he co-sponsored S.B. 390 to withhold state funding from libraries affiliated with the American Library Association. Hodges has a 47-year career in banking as founder, senior officer, and former CEO of First Bank of Brunswick , now President of the Georgia Southeast Coastal Market. He is deeply involved in community service, currently chairing the Coastal Community Health Board and serving on boards for the Coastal Georgia Historical Society, Southeast Georgia Health System, and Glynn-Brunswick Memorial Hospital Authority; past roles include chairing United Way of Glynn County, American Cancer Society local chapter, and Jekyll Island Authority. Married to Dana for over 40 years, they have two sons and one grandchild.

Education and Political Experience

• Education: Graduated from Brunswick High School ; attended Brunswick Junior College; earned BBA in Banking and Finance from University of Georgia's Terry College of Business; additional degrees from UGA School of Banking and Stonier Graduate School of Banking at University of Delaware.
• Political Experience: Elected to Georgia State Senate District 3 in 2022; leadership roles include Administration Floor Leader and committee secretaryships as noted above.
