Biography
Mike Freiberg is an American politician and member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party . He represents District 43B in the Minnesota House of Representatives, covering parts of the central Twin Cities metropolitan area including Golden Valley, Robbinsdale, Crystal, Plymouth, and portions of Hennepin County. First elected in 2012 after serving nine years on the Golden Valley City Council, he has been reelected every two years and is currently in his 7th term as a public health attorney. Notable achievements include chairing the Elections Finance and Policy Committee , championing automatic voter registration, pre-registration for 16- and 17-year-olds, restoring voting rights for those on probation, the Minnesota Voting Rights Act, and the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. He also serves on committees such as Commerce Finance and Policy, State and Local Government Finance and Policy, Ways and Means, and Taxes. In September 2025, he announced his candidacy for Minnesota Senate District 43 following Senator Ann Rest's retirement. He is married with two children.
