Biography
Representative Michael J. Finn is a Democrat representing the 6th Hampden District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, which includes the entire City of West Springfield, three precincts in Chicopee, and one precinct each in Agawam and Westfield. A lifelong resident of West Springfield, he is currently serving his seventh term and was born on March 24, 1970, in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He is married to Jennifer Finn and has three children: Charlie, Peter, and Molly. Notable achievements include his appointment as House Chair of the Joint Committee on Bonding, Capital Expenditures and State Assets this term, previous roles as House Chair of the Joint Committee on Children, Families and Persons with Disabilities , and Chair of the House Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change .
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduate of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and St. Mary's High School.
- Military Service: Served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard from 1991 to 1998.
- Professional Experience: Worked as a court officer for 15 years with the Trial Court in Springfield.
