Biography
Michael Seamus Day is a Democrat representing the 31st Middlesex District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, which includes the towns of Stoneham and Winchester. He has served since January 2015, when he was first sworn in. An attorney and founding partner of Torres, Scammon, Hincks & Day, LLP , Day previously worked as a Special Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County and as a trial attorney at Mintz Levin in Boston for nearly a decade. He lives in Stoneham with his wife Megan, their three sons , one dog, four chickens, and three fish. Active in the community, he has coached Stoneham Youth Hockey for over a decade and supports strong public schools emphasizing hard work and social justice.
Notable achievements include recognition as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer annually since 2014 , Chair of the Boston Bar Association's Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Section in 2014, and service on the Board of Directors for Parents Helping Parents . In the House, he advanced to Chairperson of the Joint Committee on the Judiciary after serving as Vice Chair , and held roles on committees like House Operations, Facilities and Security; Personnel and Administration; Post Audit and Oversight; and Economic Development and Emerging Technologies. He also served as an adjunct law professor at New England School of Law in 2013.
