Biography

Mike Cierpiot is a Republican state senator representing Missouri's 8th Senatorial District, which covers eastern Jackson County, including Lee's Summit. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he has lived in eastern Jackson County for over 40 years and is married to Connie Cierpiot, his wife of 50 years, who also served as a state representative; they have two children and two grandchildren. He is a member of Missouri Right to Life, Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce, and the National Rifle Association. Notable achievements include the 2013 Public Official of the Year Award from Developmental Disability Services of Jackson County, the 2013 Spirit of Commerce Award from the Missouri Chamber of Commerce, the 2013 Legislative Award from the St. Louis Business Journal, and the Defender of Prosperity Award in 2013 and 2014 from Americans for Prosperity – Missouri. He serves on statewide committees including the Missouri Humanities Council Trust Fund Board of Trustees, Southern States Energy Board, and Task Force on the Future of Right-of-Way Management and Taxation.
