Mike Cherry is a Republican delegate representing Virginia's 74th District in the House of Delegates. Born in 1972 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, he graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in 1990 and served as a decorated veteran in the United States Air Force as a Loadmaster on C-141B and C-17A aircraft, earning Commendations, Achievements, and Meritorious Service medals. An educator and pastor, he serves as Staff Pastor at Life Church, Head of School at Life Christian Academy in South Chesterfield and Colonial Heights, and volunteer Chaplain with the Colonial Heights Police Department, with training in peer-to-peer counseling and Crisis Intervention Management. He previously served on the Colonial Heights City Council from 2017 to 2021 and was elected to the 66th District in 2021 before winning the 74th District in 2023 and 2025.
