Biography
Mike Cameron is a Republican representing Georgia House District 1, which includes parts of Walker County and all of Dade County. Born on July 21, 1959, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he moved to Rossville, Georgia, at a young age. A self-described Constitutional Conservative advocating for small government, he was first elected to the Georgia House in 2020 and reelected in 2022. Notable achievements include leading efforts to transition Walker County from a sole commissioner government in 2016, chairing a related committee, and co-sponsoring key bills such as HB 1367 , HB 270 , HB 1084 , HB 123 , HB 1 , and HB 1358 . He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the House Human Relations and Aging Committee and holds positions on Agriculture, Labor, Budget and Oversight, and Interstate Cooperation committees.

Limited public details are available on formal education. Prior to politics, Cameron had a career leading to retirement, after which he became active in Walker County Republican politics. In 2016, he formed a ballot committee that secured 75% voter approval to change the county's government structure and later chaired a committee producing recommendations via a white paper. He supported statewide candidates, including establishing a call center making over 100,000 calls for Governor Kemp, and served until March 2019.
