Biography
Mike Brandenburg is a Republican representative for District 28 in the North Dakota House of Representatives, based in Edgeley. A farmer by profession, he was born on October 1, 1956, and is married to Lovice with 6 children and 18 grandchildren. He serves on boards including the Trump Ag Advisory Group, Nora Township Supervisor, ND Chemical Harmonization, Dakota Prairie Ag, and LaMoure County Farm Bureau, and is involved with Farmers Union, Lions Club, and Zion Lutheran Church Council. He also served in the North Dakota National Guard.
Education and Political Experience
Education: Edgeley High School.
Political Experience: Elected to the North Dakota House in 1997 as a Democrat, he switched to the Republican Party on October 2, 1997. Served from 1997-2002 and continuously since 2005 . Currently holds office through at least December 1, 2028. Serves on interim committees including Budget Section Energy Development and Transmission Committee and Transportation Committee. Notable positions include voting for K-12 funding expansions and against private school vouchers, supporting pro-education policies 63% of the time.
