Biography
Senator Michael D. Brady is a Democrat representing the Second Plymouth and Norfolk District in the Massachusetts State Senate. This district includes the city of Brockton and the towns of East Bridgewater, Halifax, Hanson, and Whitman in Plymouth County, as well as portions of Randolph and Avon in Norfolk County. A lifelong Brockton resident, he has served in various public roles since 1996 and was elected to the Senate in 2015 following the death of Senator Thomas P. Kennedy. Notable achievements include chairing the Joint Committee on Public Service, serving as Senate Vice-Chair of the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security and the Joint Committee on Revenue, and prior leadership as chair of the Senate Committee on Election Laws. He supports public education funding, renewable energy, opioid abuse prevention, economic development in gateway cities, and mortgage foreclosure relief, and has volunteered with organizations like the Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, and NAACP.
