Biography
Mike Bernskoetter is a Republican state senator representing Missouri's 6th Senatorial District, which includes Cole, Camden, Miller, Moniteau, and Morgan counties. He took office on January 9, 2019, and began his second and final term on January 4, 2023. A Jefferson City native, he and his wife, Jeannette, have owned and operated Art’s Pest Control since 1986 and manage a cow/calf farm. They are members of Immaculate Conception Parish.
Notable achievements include: Missouri Cattlemen’s Association 2019 Legislator of the Year; 2019 Missouri Corn Growers Association Public Service Award; 2019 Conservation Legislator of the Year; Missouri Pork Association 2020 Outstanding Legislator Award; Missouri Rural Cooperatives 2021 Legislative Leadership Award; 2022 Public Official Achievement Award from the Missouri Park and Recreation Association; and 2022 Legislative Appreciation Award from Missouri Society of Professional Surveyors. He currently chairs the Joint Committee on Legislative Research and the Senate Select Committee on the Protection of Missouri Assets From Foreign Adversaries, among other roles.
