Biography
Mike Andrade is a Democratic member of the Indiana House of Representatives, representing District 12 in Northwest Indiana, which includes the towns of Munster, Highland, Griffith, and a portion of Schererville.
Mike Andrade, born March 10, 1980, was raised in Chicago's Pilsen Historic District and later moved to Hammond, Indiana. He owns and operates a real estate investment firm, resides in Munster with his family, and is a community leader and entrepreneur. Elected in November 2020, he succeeded Mara Candelaria Reardon and assumed office on November 4, 2020. As one of few Latino legislators in Indiana, he serves on boards including the United Way of Northwest Indiana Executive Board, Purdue University Northwest Chancellor’s Board of Advisors, Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy Advisory Council, and Nipsco’s Community Advisory Panel. He is a member of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators, Co-Chairs the Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives Advisory Board for Purdue University Northwest, and is Chief Advisor to the Valparaiso University President on Advancing Latino Education. He also Co-Chairs the Indiana Taiwan Friendship Caucus.
