Michelle Salzman

Current Position: State Representative
Michelle Salzman was born on July 5, 1977, in Texas and was raised in Pensacola, Florida. She is a U.S. Army veteran who served for five years as a Logistician and Armorer, achieving the rank where she received an Army Commutation Medal, multiple Army Achievement Medals, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals for exemplary service. During her military career, she developed and implemented inventory control systems that saved the 1st Armored Division millions of dollars.
After transitioning to civilian life, Salzman leveraged her Army College Fund to pursue higher education and establish herself as a community leader. She is a small business owner, having founded and co-owned Salz Studio, a photography business serving the Gulf Coast community since 2003. She is married to Phillip Salzman of Norfolk, Virginia, and has three children: Richard, Katlynne, and Chancellor.
Salzman is deeply involved in community service, with a particular focus on children, families in poverty, and wounded veterans. She has been recognized with numerous awards for her philanthropic work and community engagement.

Political Experience
Salzman was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2020 on her first run for office, defeating the incumbent representative. She has been reelected subsequently and currently serves District 1.

- Advocate for term limits at all levels of government; successfully implemented term limitations for members of the Utility Authority in Escambia County and introduced legislation to impose term limits on County Commissioners
- Active member of various community organizations, including the American Legion, NRA, Florida Carry, and numerous local boards and foundations focused on education, veterans' services, and civic engagement
