Biography
Michelle Mussman is a Democratic Illinois State Representative for the 56th district, which includes all or parts of Schaumburg, Elk Grove Village, Roselle, Hoffman Estates, Hanover Park, Rolling Meadows, and Bloomingdale. Born on August 17, 1972, she has served in this role since her election in 2010, with reelections in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020. A full-time legislator and mother of three adult children, she entered politics as a community volunteer and PTA leader frustrated with state government issues. Notable achievements include sponsoring bills like HB0135 and HB0452 . She served as a presidential elector for Illinois in the 2016 election and holds positions on committees such as Chair of the Elementary & Secondary Education: School Curriculum & Policies Committee.
