Biography
Michelle Fischbach is a Republican U.S. Representative for Minnesota's 7th Congressional District, which covers the western half of Minnesota from the Canadian border nearly to Iowa. Born on November 3, 1965, she is a trailblazing conservative leader and attorney with over 20 years of public service, including as Minnesota's 49th Lieutenant Governor and the first woman to serve as President of the Minnesota Senate . Notable achievements include authoring the Higher Education Omnibus Bill investing $36 million in the Minnesota State Grant Program, sponsoring legislation to honor fallen heroes by renaming highway sections, and flipping a 30-year Democratic-held seat in 2020 by 14 points. In Congress since 2021, she serves on the House Ways and Means Committee , Rules Committee, Ethics Committee, and Budget Committee, advocating for agriculture, Second Amendment rights, law and order, and pro-life issues.
