Biography

Michelle Badger

Michelle L. Badger is an American politician serving as the State Representative for the 1st Plymouth District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She was elected in 2024 and assumed office in January 2025. Prior to her election to the state legislature, Badger worked extensively in higher education administration and advancement. She served as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Massasoit Community College from August 2022 to December 2024. Her professional background includes tenure at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where she worked as Director of Advancement from 2014 to 2022 and Assistant Director of Advancement from 2012 to 2014. She also held positions at Suffolk University and Sweet Briar College focused on annual giving and advancement. Badger holds a CFRE Certification and has over 18 years of total professional experience.

Education

Badger attended Boston University in 2016. She also holds a CFRE Certification issued by CFRE International.

Political Experience

Badger was elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 2024. For the 2025-26 Session, she serves on the House Committee on Federal Funding, Policy and Accountability, the Joint Committee on Emergency Preparedness and Management, the Joint Committee on Higher Education, and the Joint Committee on Housing. She is a member of the School Transportation Commission, the Board of Registration of Licensed Mental Health Counselors, and the Plymouth Land Bank.

Locally, Badger served on the Plymouth Public Schools School Committee from May 2011 to December 2024, during which time she served as Chair. Her campaign experience includes serving as Campaign Manager for a State Representative Race in 2010 and Campaign District Director for a State Senate Campaign from 2011 to 2012. Earlier in her career, she completed an internship for Senator Kerry at the United States Senate in 2005 and served as a Moakley Fellow at the Office of Senator Kennedy HELP Committee in 2009.
