Biography
Michele Reneau is a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, serving District 27 since 2025. District 27 includes areas from Lookout Mountain, Lookout Valley, Red Bank, Signal Mountain, Hixson, Soddy Daisy, Mowbray Mountain, Flat Top Mountain, to Bakewell. She is a faith-driven conservative, mother of five, small business owner in real estate, and advocate for Tennessee's food-freedom laws. Raised in South Carolina by her father, an Army Vietnam veteran, and her mother, a legal immigrant from South Korea, she relocated to Signal Mountain, Tennessee, with her husband Chris after his Navy service in 2009.
Education and Political Experience
Reneau earned a B.A. in Political Science from The College of Charleston and a Master's in Public Administration from the University of South Carolina, becoming the first in her family to graduate college debt-free. In 2024, she defeated incumbent Patsy Hazlewood in the Republican primary to win election. Notable achievements include successfully advocating to preserve the TN Herd Share Act in 2019 and supporting the Farm to Consumer Distribution Point bill, which passed nearly unanimously with sponsorship from state legislators.
