Biography
Michele Meyer
Michele Meyer is a Democratic politician from Eliot, Maine, representing House District 150 in the Maine House of Representatives. She has been an Eliot resident for 30 years and is a proud parent and grandparent. Meyer owns and operates a family farm under conservation easement in Eliot, where she raises dairy goats, grows pumpkins, and is a licensed maple syrup producer.
Education
Meyer earned a *Bachelor of Science in Nursing * from Norwich University in 1995.
Political Experience
Meyer has served four consecutive terms in the Maine House of Representatives, having been elected in November 2018. She currently serves as the Chair of the Health and Human Services Committee, a significant leadership position within the legislature.
Throughout her career, Meyer has focused on policies that strengthen social safety net programs, build family resiliency, and promote healthy child development. Her key policy priorities include quality health care for Mainers across the lifespan, ensuring reproductive choice, reducing property tax burden, fully funding schools, and building Maine's healthcare workforce. Additionally, she has supported investment in cannabis industry jobs in her district and advocated for community engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to her legislative service, Meyer spent her professional career as a registered nurse with a focus on occupational health and medical case management.
