Biography

Michael A.K. Stender Jr. is a Republican representative for the 108th District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, serving portions of Montour and Northumberland Counties. He assumed office on June 5, 2023, following a special election to succeed Lynda Schlegel Culver, who was elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate. A lifelong resident of Northumberland County and Sunbury, Pennsylvania, Stender is a career and volunteer firefighter, former emergency medical technician with the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire and Americus Hose Company, and former EMS System Coordinator for the Susquehanna EHS Council. He is a proud husband and father of three daughters, an Eagle Scout, and a former committee member for Boy Scouts of America Susquehanna Council Troop 331. Stender emphasizes fiscal restraint, support for small businesses, public safety, and conservative values. Notable positions include service on the House Consumer Protection: Technology & Utilities, Commerce, and Veterans Affairs/Emergency Preparedness Committees during the 2023-24 session.
