Biography
Michael J. Rodrigues is a Democratic state senator representing the First Bristol and Plymouth District in Massachusetts, which includes the city of Fall River and the towns of Freetown, Somerset, Swansea, and Westport. First elected to the Senate in 2010, he previously served 14 years in the Massachusetts House of Representatives . Notable achievements include serving as Chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means, where he leads efforts on the state budget and major legislation; previous roles as Senate Majority Whip , Chair of the Senate Ethics Committee, and leadership on committees like Revenue, Steering and Policy, and Redistricting. He is also a UMass Dartmouth graduate and small business owner focused on the South Coast region.
