Biography
Michael Nigro is a Democrat representing Bennington-5 in the Vermont House of Representatives, serving since 2025 . Born and raised in upstate New York , he resides in Bennington, Vermont, with his wife, Sarah Perrin, who serves on the Bennington Selectboard since 2020 and co-owns their catering/concessions business. Notable community roles include past president of the Bennington Rotary, board member for the Bennington Rescue Squad, member of the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce, and Elks Lodge #567.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: BA in Political Science and MBA .
- Professional Experience: Worked 10 years in behavioral health, including as director of a residential facility for teenagers in Rhode Island; later directed a Medicare-certified home healthcare agency in Bennington County and northern Berkshire County, MA, for eight years; since 2016 , co-owns a catering/concessions business serving festivals and corporate events in the Northeast; small business owner.
