Biography
Michael Melerine is a Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing District 6, which includes parts of Bossier Parish and Caddo Parish. He assumed office on January 8, 2024, after winning the election on October 14, 2023, with 68.1% of the vote. An attorney based in Shreveport, he previously served on the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education District 4; his wife, Stacey Melerine, succeeded him there. Notable positions include service on House committees for Civil Law and Procedure, Insurance, and Labor and Industrial Relations, as well as membership in the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation.
