Biography
Michael Johnson is a Republican State Senator representing District 16 in South Carolina, which covers parts of Lancaster and York Counties including Tega Cay, Fort Mill, Indian Land, and areas of Lancaster County. Born on November 22, 1970, in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, he resides in Tega Cay, South Carolina, and is married to Amy with two children, Cole and Grace. A practicing attorney, he founded Michael Johnson, P.C. & Associates, specializing in commercial and residential real estate law with offices in Fort Mill and Indian Land. Notable achievements include serving as Chairman of York County Council , two terms on the Fort Mill School Board, and community roles such as President of the Fort Mill Rotary Club, board member of the Upper Palmetto YMCA Executive Board and Teen Health Center Board, Election Attorney for the York County Republican Party, and graduate of Leadership York County and Leadership South Carolina programs. He currently serves on key Senate committees including Judiciary, Rules, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Corrections and Penology, Family and Veterans' Services, and Labor, Commerce and Industry.
