Biography
Michael J. O'Brien is a Democratic member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 64th District, which includes half of Trumbull County and the southern portion of Ashtabula County. Born on June 18, 1955, in Warren, Ohio, he is a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley and has built a long career in public service. He previously served as Mayor of Warren , Trumbull County Commissioner , and Warren City Councilman . Notable achievements include his work on the Ohio Criminal Sentencing Commission under Gov. Strickland and active involvement in community organizations such as Sons of the American Legion, Trumbull Memorial Hospital, United Way, Warren City Democrats, AHEPA, Slovak Club, Moose, and Elks. He is divorced with three children: Michael, Kristen, and Dominic, and is Roman Catholic.
Education
O'Brien graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Warren and earned a BS in Criminal Justice from Youngstown State University in 1978. He also worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer.
