Senator Michael Brooks represents Oklahoma Senate District 44, covering parts of southwest Oklahoma City. A lifelong resident of South Oklahoma City with family roots spanning four generations, he is a small business owner and attorney who won a special election for the seat and has served since 2017. Notable achievements include serving as Democratic Caucus Vice Chair and Assistant Democratic Floor Leader , presiding over the Santa Fe South Charter Schools Board, and past leadership as board chair of the Latino Community Development Agency . He serves on committees including Appropriations, Public Safety and Judiciary, Administrative Rules, Business and Insurance, Judiciary, and Public Safety Oversight for the Legislative Office of Fiscal Transparency.
