Biography
Mia Gregerson is a Democratic representative who was first appointed in 2013 to the Washington House of Representatives for the 33rd Legislative District, which includes SeaTac, Normandy Park, Des Moines, and parts of Kent, Burien, Renton, and unincorporated King County. She served in the House until her appointment to the Washington State Senate in 2024, representing one of the state's most racially diverse districts. Notable achievements include leading the nation's first $15 minimum wage initiative in SeaTac , serving as Chair of the House Members of Color Caucus and Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Committee, expanding voting rights, establishing Washington’s first Office of Equity, championing digital equity, addressing housing affordability and food insecurity, and sponsoring progressive legislation like the Medicare for All bill and College for All Act. She also served as Mayor of SeaTac , was appointed to the Washington State Investment Board in 2023, and has deep roots in South King County as part of four generations of her family there; she has an adult daughter, Alexis.
