Biography
Melissa Osborne is a Democratic State Representative for Connecticut's 16th House District, which encompasses Simsbury. She is currently serving her second term and holds the position of Assistant Majority Leader. A resident of Simsbury, she is a practicing attorney with over 28 years of experience, founding and managing her own family and divorce law practice in Avon since 2011. Her career includes work at major international law firms on corporate real estate and joint ventures, as well as advocacy for vulnerable children and families. Notable achievements include championing legislation for timely support hearings in Family Court to prevent financial abuse and promote stability during divorces. She emphasizes fiscally responsible policies supporting small businesses, education, health, environment, and economic growth, while advocating for women's health care, gun safety, and affordability issues like eliminating income tax on Social Security.
