Megan Steele is a Republican representing Kansas House District 51 since 2024. She is a PhD-level nurse, educator, and podcast host, married to Matt Steele, a small business owner, with whom she has five children: Jaelynn, Cooper, Trig, Remi Kate, and Colt. A Christian, Steele's personal experience of having a baby in high school shaped her opposition to abortion and advocacy for community support for young mothers. She narrowly won the 2024 Republican primary against Eli Kormanik by 22 votes and defeated Democrat Linda Morse in the general election to succeed Rep. Kenny Titus.
