Biography
Representative Meg Kilcoyne
Meghan Kilcoyne is a Democratic politician representing the 12th Worcester District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. She was born and raised in the 12th Worcester District and spent much of her childhood in Clinton, where all of her grandparents lived. Kilcoyne is the first female State Representative of the 12th Worcester District, having been elected in 2020. She currently serves her third term representing the towns of Berlin, Boylston, Clinton, Lancaster, Precinct 4 of Northborough, and Sterling.
Education
Kilcoyne attended Chocksett and Houghton schools before graduating from Wachusett Regional High School. She earned a B.A. in History from Stonehill College and later received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.
Political Experience
Prior to her election to the State House, Kilcoyne worked in the Massachusetts State House for over 10 years, beginning in 2010 when she joined State Representative Harold Naughton's office. During this time, she worked on various issues impacting the district and the Commonwealth. As Chief Budget Analyst, she worked to secure millions of dollars in funding for every town in the district. She also collaborated with local officials and legislators of both parties to successfully pass numerous local bills for each town in the district. In 2020, she won a three-way Democratic primary before being elected as the first woman to represent the 12th Worcester District.
