Biography
Representative Matthew Winslow
Matthew Dale Winslow is a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives representing the 7th district, which encompasses all of Franklin County and part of Nash County. He assumed office on January 1, 2021, succeeding Lisa Stone Barnes. Winslow resides in Youngsville, North Carolina, and is married to Marquita with two children.
As a pro-faith, pro-family, and pro-freedom conservative, Winslow has built his career around principles of hard work, family values, and community commitment. He is the owner and operator of Winslow Homes, a homebuilding company based in Youngsville. According to the Civitas Partisan Index, his district leans Republican by +4.
Education
Winslow earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning and Development from East Carolina University.
Political Experience
Winslow has served three terms in the North Carolina House of Representatives. During the 2025-2026 session, he holds several significant leadership and committee positions:
