Biography
Matthew E. Walker is a Republican representative for Franklin-4 in the Vermont House of Representatives, serving since a special election in 2022 to fill a vacancy. Born in Rutland, Vermont, on July 15, he was raised in Brandon and Northfield. He resides in Swanton, Franklin County, with his wife and three children, and owns Vermont Clothing Company in St. Albans. Walker previously worked 20 years in international logistics as a licensed U.S. Customs Broker. Notable positions include service on the House Committee on Transportation, Canvassing Committee, Governor's Snowmobile Council, and Summer Government Accountability Committee.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Attended Otter Valley Union High School and Northfield Middle and High School; earned a B.A. in History/Political Science from the University of Vermont.
